Prologue: Manoyoga

Our Memory, Our Lives

'Yoga' is derived from Samskruta word 'Yuj'/'Yujir' which means 'to integrate/ join/ connect'. VEDA used the word 'Yoga' with the meaning of yoking, coming together or unite. As already said, Yoga is the Ancient Science of Self-realisation. We all know that Yoga is a way of life that is designed to free us from obstacles and liberate us from any negativity or blockages. Yoga creates balance, harmony, equanimity and synchronicity, enhances our ability to experience life truly, identify our inner potential and find the purpose of our life.

There is a mention of Yoga in the famous Hindu scripture, “BHAGAVADGITA” where Krishna told Arjuna,

CH II – VERSE 48

योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि संग त्यक्त्वा धनंजय ।

सिद्धयसिद्धयोः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते ॥

Yogasthaha kuru karmaani sangam tyaktva dhananjaya|

Siddhyasiddhyoha samo bhutva samatvam yoga uchyate ||

There is a definite result for every action, however when you do any action; one should not be attached to the result. Balanced approach on success or failure leads to evenness of the mind and that is Yoga.

We become a Yogi when we associate with Yoga. It is our responsibility to become a positive Yogi. Yoga purifies our mind and we can bring the right changes in our life through Yoga. We can unite with the universal energy if we integrate the mind with Yoga. There is a mention of 'Yoga' in Patanjali Yoga Sutra as well:-

योगश्चित्तवृत्तिनिरोधः

Yogaschitta Vritti Nirodaha

  1. Yogic techniques are a practice that keeps the mind away from fluctuations.
  2. Yoga is the energy that neutralizes all the bondages of emotions and feelings.
  3. The transformation from the mind-space to a mindless-space is Yoga.

Mind is a form of energy, it is invisible and non-physical. The mind is a source of our thoughts, emotions, imagination, memory, perception etc. It is a medium as well, where all cognitive faculties express. The mind is a faculty of Consciousness and everything exists in our consciousness. If we can use this consciousness power completely, then there will not be any fear, insecurity, stress and confusion. For that, we have to establish a connection / communication with our mind.

The mind works with the help of Indriyas. The mind is always in motion and is affected in every moment by feelings, images, sounds and other information which it perceives through the senses.

According to Yoga Sutra, there are 11 Indriyas (Sense Organs) - 5 Gnaanendriyas (involved in comprehending physical things and in the acquaintance of knowledge), 5 Karmendriyas (involved in executing actions) and Manas.

Gnaanendriyas - Shotra (Shabda)-Ears; Chakshu (Rupa)-Eyes; Grahna (Gandha)-Nose; Jivha (Rasa)-Tongue; Tvak (Sparsha)-Skin.

Karmendriyas - Vak (Mouth)-For speech;  Pani (Hands)-for dexterity;  Pada (Feet)-for locomotion;  Payu (Rectum)-for excretion;  Upastha (Genitals)-for reproduction.

If we want to create/ transform anything in our life, these Indriya’s help us. These are energies. The mind is continuously running and the food for it is thoughts, emotions, pictures and sounds. The mind cannot work without these. If we can detach from Indriyas, then we will reach the state of Samadhi.

Based on our ancient and modern science, there are 4 states of the mind:

  1. Conscious/Beta (Jagrutha) - The EEG in this state is 14-22 cps.
  2. Subconscious/Alpha (Swapna) - The EEG in this state is 7-13 cps.
  3. Unconscious/Theta (Sushupti) - The EEG in this state is 4-6 cps.
  4. Superconscious/Delta (Turiya) - The EEG in this state is  >0 to 3 cps.

The first three states - Conscious, Subconscious and Unconscious are the fundamental states for our life and transformation.

Even the symbol of OM represents all the states of the mind. OMKAARA is the governing body of the whole Universe and Consciousness. A chant of OM merges all the states of the mind. It means that OMKAARA is naturally happening inside us just like in the universe.

The experiences we are learning by incarnating expand our wisdom by transforming the Antar Indriyas (Manas, Buddhi, Chitta, Ahamkaara) and that wisdom comes from the Anandamaya Kosha in the superconscious state.

Manoyoga can be experienced through Past Life Regression Therapy as well (PLRT). Yes! We all have past lives. Past lives do not obligatorily mean previous births. Past lives could be our past days, childhood days and even the days we were in the womb. Change is the law of nature. There are changes happening is us every day continuously knowingly and unknowingly. The base of these changes is our Karma.

Even our thoughts, emotions and perceptions are predicated on Karma. All past lives and Karma are in our memories and memories are in the subconscious mind (One of the 4 states of the mind). Although, we can safely say that past lives and Karma are mere memories, however we are nothing without memories. Memories are stored as energies in the subconscious mind. Karma exists in each and every cell of the body, in every DNA/ Gene, in our entire Astitva. We are carrying these Karma or memories from millions of years. We can also say that Karma and memories are our learning’s. Our belief system and perceptions are predicated on learning’s. Each Karma and memory has its roots, maybe somewhere in our past lives/ time or even in life between lives. Our transformation begins with unlearning / realizing these blockages of life. We are an awe-inspiring miracle.

Memories are fundamental because even if we completely forget how to do one thing that is a fundamental part of our daily routine, for example, driving, eating, speaking or even walking, life turns out to be a nightmare. There are people who have totally forgotten that they are even alive. It is called as Cotards' delusion, also known as walking corpse syndrome or Cotards' syndrome. Again, it is a learning.

Past Life Regression Therapy is a marvelous and enigmatic therapy. Here, we communicate with the subconscious mind by guiding the subject to a deep trance relaxing the conscious mind. The subconscious is the place of the repository of memories. We can access our past lives, learning’s, the roots and solutions of our problems, Karma through the subconscious mind. The power of the subconscious mind is boundless. It is intelligent. We are carrying many blockages from many past lives that are being hindrances as negative blockages, emotional blockages, negative energies, negative affirmations and Karmic blockages. They are driving us away from our success, also blocking our perceptions and wilting our life.

These blockages express themselves through our body, mind and emotions in semblances of low self-esteem, lack of courage, lack of self-confidence, inferiority complex, bewilderment, hesitation, uncertainty, stress, anger, anxiety, loneliness, hypertension, phobias, panic, depression, furious, intense fear, urge to spite, thyroid, fatigue, stammering, migraine, infertility, suicidal tendencies, hysteria, diabetes, hyper activeness, insomnia, skin problems, split personality, addictions, relationship problems and a multitude of other health and psychosomatic disorders. Psychosomatic disorders are blockages rooted in the mind and expressed in the body.

The body, the mind and emotions are interrelated. An imbalance in one affects others. Thus, it is impertinent to take care of mental health and emotional health as much as physical health.

Past Life Regression Therapy has many dimensions.

Womb Regression Therapy - The mothers' womb is our first school. The baby learns instantly whatever the mother experiences. Hence, we carry several negativities from there itself. Birth trauma has diverse effects and they could trigger at any point of age in life. Womb regression therapy focuses on cleansing and healing womb and birth-related problems.

Age Regression Therapy - The best example of this regression is addictions. We might fall prey to any addiction at any point of our age or we might have got addicted to something gradually through the years unknowingly and the roots are diffused among the years. Age regression therapy cleanses such diffused roots and heals us.

Current life regression therapy - This therapy is used when there are severe or intense health or relationship problems. Sometimes, there will be more than one reason or root for a problem to occur or numerous problems weave and guises as one problem and there will be deep roots outstretched from current life to past lives. This therapy helps in tackling such problems.

Lifebetween life regression therapy - As the name indicates, there are many events that occur between the previous life and the next life. Predicate on such events Chitta initiates how the next life should be. According to its initiation, Chitta decides Group Karma, Prarabdha Karma as well as a proportion of Kriyamana Karma. Sometimes, a persons' entire life will be predicated on life between life events. This therapy cleanses and heals such related problems.

Manoyoga is thus a route to understand the functions, synchronicity and influences of our MIND and unify our Astitva. This wisdom will help one to achieve a balanced Life - filled with harmony, bliss, joy and prosperity.
